Dutch Apple Pie is a favorite fall dessert. Layers of cinnamon spiced apples topped with streusel is perfect for a Thanksgiving dessert.
For this Apple Pie with Crumb Topping recipe you'll need: apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, apple cider, vanilla, flour, butter, lemon and nutmeg.
Start by making the pie crust. This recipe works with homemade pie crust or store bought pie crust.
Slice apples, season with cinnamon, allspice and cardamom. Add lemon juice and cornstarch then fill pie crust with a mound of apples.
Boil apple cider then thicken. This adds an intensified apple taste to your Apple pie with crumb topping. Make the streusel and top pie. Bake at 350°F for 2 hours.
Serve Apple Pie with Crumb Topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Dutch Apple Pie goes well with a caramel drizzle too.
