Soft and Chewy Molasses Cookies are a tradition in our holiday baking. Try iced molasses cookies by dipping in almond bark or white chocolate!
For these chewy ginger molasses cookies you'll need: flour, shortening, brown sugar, sugar, molasses, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, egg, white chocolate,, ground mustard.
Whisk the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, salt and dry mustard together in a medium sized mixing bowl with a whisk.
Cream shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar together in the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a large mixing bowl and electric mixer.
Add remaining wet ingredients to mixer and blend. I use Grandma's molasses because Grandma's molasses cookies are the best!
Soft and chewy molasses cookies will have a soft dough that you will form into a 2oz ball. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
Bake these Grandma's molasses cookies at 350°F for 10-12 minutes then cool fully. Dip Soft and Chewy Molasses Cookies in white chocolate.
Top soft and chewy molasses cookies with crushed candy cane, shaved chocolate or leave them plain. These will be the best ginger molasses cookies you've ever had!
