This Cranberry Orange Sauce is a taste of the holidays. It's sweet, it's tart and it's packed with warm spices that scream holidays! This sauce is perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ingredients
  

Cranberry Orange Sauce

  • 1 cup walnuts toasted
  • 24 oz fresh cranberries
  • cups granny smith apples ¼ inch dice
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cup water
  • ¾ cup raisins
  • cup orange juice fresh squeezed
  • tablespoon lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • tsp allspice

Instructions
 

Toasting the Walnuts

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and lay walnuts out on a sheet tray
  • Roast the walnuts for 7-10 minutes until lightly browned. Check them after 7, they can burn quickly
  • Set aside walnuts to cool then rough chop them

Making the Cranberry Orange Sauce

  • Add all ingredients to Dutch oven and give a good stir. Heat over medium heat until it comes to a boil
  • Turn the heat down and continue to simmer for 15-20 minutes

  • Remove from the heat and let cool
  • Transfer to a storage container or serving dish and refrigerate until chilled. Serve and enjoy!
