Easy Vanilla Brownies

These Easy Vanilla Brownies have a rich vanilla flavor, a layer of Golden Oreos in the middle and white chocolate drizzle on top

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 small sauce pot for double boiler
  • 1 oven

Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs room temp
  • 1 egg yolk room temp
  • 4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Extras

  • 20 golden Oreos
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips or chopped bar

Instructions
 

Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F then spray the 8x8 inch baking pan with non stick cooking spray
  • Line the pan with parchment paper. Cut all four corners of the parchment paper so it lies flat in the pan then spray the parchment paper with non stick cooking spray
  • Add the melted butter to your large mixing bowl and mix in the brown sugar until fully incorporated

  • Mix in the eggs one at a time, scraping down the sides between each addition

  • Stir in the vanilla

Mixing the Dry Ingredients

  • Whisk the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl

  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold together until almost full combined

Making the Vanilla Brownies

  • Scoop half of the vanilla brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread into an even layer
  • Layer the Oreos on top evenly
    Oreos layered on top of half the batter
  • Spread the other half of the batter evenly over the top of the Oreos
    second half of the batter spread over the top of the Oreos
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes
  • Allow to cool on a wire rack

Making the White Chocolate Drizzle

  • While the vanilla brownies are cooling melt the white chocolate
  • Place the white chocolate in a heat proof bowl and melt it using a double boiler
  • Pour the white chocolate into a bowl or jar and let it cool for 5-10 minutes
  • Using a pastry bag or a zip lock bag with the corner cut off, drizzle the white chocolate over the top of the brownies then let it set
  • Cut and enjoy!

Notes

Lining the pan with parchment paper allows for easy removal of brownies and easier cutting.
Allow eggs to come to room temperature before mixing.
Don't overmix brownie batter once you've added the dry ingredients. 
Allow vanilla brownies to cool before slicing.
