Making the Ribeye Steaks
Remove the ribeye steaks from the fridge about 30 minutes prior to cooking to get the chill off
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for about 5 minutes
Drizzle and rub the olive oil all over both steaks. Mix the salt and pepper together then season both sides of each steak and the sides of the steak
Place the ribeye steaks in the air fryer basket in one single layer. DO NOT stack or overlap them. If there's not enough room then cook them in batches
Cook the ribeye steaks for 11 minutes then use your thermometer to take the internal temperature. It should be between 125°F for medium rare. The temperature will rise an additional 5 degrees after coming out of the air fryer
Remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest on a plate or cutting board for 5-10 minutes BEFORE cutting into them. This is important, don't skip the rest time
Add a little compound butter to the top of each steak and serve
Notes
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for about 5 minutes before adding your steaks. Be sure to place the steaks in a single layer only in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap or stack them.Use 1"-1.25" ribeye steaks and cook for 11 minutes for medium rare. There is a temperature guide in the blog post if you'd like to cook your steak to a different temperature.DO NOT skip the resting time. The steaks need to rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting into them to keep them juicy and delicious. Use a digital meat thermometer to check the temperature of your steak and get the correct doneness.
