These tacos are the homemade version of a Big Mac on a sesame seed flour tortilla shell. All of the delicious flavors you know from a Big Mac BUT BETTER! Ground beef, special sauce, American cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, sesame seeds on a tortilla.
Heat a large skillet over medium - heat until hot, add a drizzle of olive oil then add your beef to the pan. Break up beef and stir occasionally
Add the salt. Once beef is full cooked remove from heat and drain the fat and add American cheese to the top, it will start to melt as it sits
Making the Special Sauce
While the beef is cooking, make your sauce
Whisk all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl until fully combined. Set aside
Warming the Tortillas + Toasting Sesame Seeds
Heat a medium skillet over low-medium heat. Add the sesame seeds to the pan, stirring or flipping them frequently. Watch closely because they can burn quickly. When the seeds become golden brown remove them from the pan and keep them nearby in a small dish
Heat the same medium skillet over low-medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the skillet and set each tortilla in the oil just to coat. Add a little of the toasted sesame seeds to the outside of each tortilla then heat each side for 10-15 seconds
Add beef to each tortilla
Topping the Tacos
Add the special sauce, lettuce, pickles, a few slices of red onion and a sprinkle of sesame seeds to each taco
Enjoy while hot!
Notes
The Big Mac sauce can be made up to 5 days ahead of time. Store it in the fridge tightly wrapped or in an airtight container.
Sprinkle a little bit of toasted sesame seeds on the outside of your flour tortillas as you're warming them so they stick to it. So good!
Serve with French Fries!
Serve the homemade Big Mac Tacos as soon as they're ready. They're best fresh.
You can buy toasted sesame seeds in the spice aisle if you don't want to toast them yourself.
