I started working in the restaurant industry at 17 and never looked back. My love for food started at a young age. I helped my mom in the kitchen starting around age 4. Little did I know my love for cooking would turn into a this!
How The Blog Got Started
In Krista's Kitchen was started as a creative outlet for me during the pandemic. My chef job wasn't as busy, I had more free time at home and had developed an interest in photography after I started posting average at best photos of my meals at restaurants. I decided to take a few online photography courses and join some groups. Long story short, a good friend of mine, The Skinnyish Dish who is a successful blogger talked me into starting a blog! In Krista's Kitchen is a great place for home cooks to find new recipes and cooking tips to help you create the best recipe possible. It's a place to find recipes to share with your families and friends at get togethers or at home, like Chicken Shawarma, Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta or Copy Cat Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme. A place to discover new ingredients and flavor profiles you never knew you loved!
My Story
I grew up in a small town in Illinois and have always had a love for food and cooking. I've spent the last 21 years as a professional chef and now have 2 little girls of my own to teach how to cook.
My world revolves around food. I currently work as a chef, cook at home almost every day, run the blog and food photography and have recently started a seasonal food truck with my husband.
He smokes Texas style BBQ, I make sides, desserts and jazz a little of his BBQ up for some new age menu items.
