Creamy whipped goat cheese with lemon, thyme and honey is an easy appetizer that works for the holidays as well as the rest of the year. Spread it on a costini with fig jam or tomato confit.
Blend goat cheese, cream cheese, olive oil, salt, honey and fresh thyme in food processor until light and airy
Slice baguette, arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper then drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the bread and sprinkle with salt & pepper
Bake 5 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and rub each piece with the end of a garlic clove
Arrange goat cheese in a serving bowl with crostini arranged around it
Optional Add-Ons
Add a little tomato confit, garlic confit or crispy bacon to the top of each goat cheese crostini
Spread fig jam on the crostini then top with goat cheese and hot honey
Notes
Make sure goat cheese and cream cheese is at room temperature so it blends well. Whipped goat cheese is delicious by itself or you can add additional toppings on the side for a build your own appetizer such as: tomato confit, garlic confit, fig jam, bacon and hot honey.
