This 10-minute Honey Lime Fruit Salad is a classic that never gets old. The refreshing combination of lime, honey, ginger and mint is hard to beat!
It's the perfect side dish for hot summer days, backyard barbeques and potlucks. Fresh fruit salad is also one of my favorites for Mother's Day and Father's Day.

This cold summer Fruit salad goes well along with other cold side dishes such as Heirloom Tomato Salad or Corn Salad.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Use your choice of the freshest summer fruit that everyone will enjoy! Watermelon works great and it also works for watermelon basil salad.
- Mix the dressing up to a week ahead so assembly the day-of is even quicker.
- No oil in the dressing!
Recipe Ingredients
- Lime juice: Only use fresh-squeezed; it's well worth the effort.
- Mint: Fresh mint leaves, never use dried for honey lime fruit salad.
- Honey: Raw local honey is a star! I prefer Local Hive Honey, which is also the star of the show in Lemon Chiffon Pie.
- Ginger: Fresh ginger adds a great little "bite" in the dressing. I almost exclusively use ginger paste which can be found in the refrigerated produce section of your local grocer.

Substitutions & Variations
- Feel free to add other fruit to make this salad your own. Some options I like are pineapple, mandarin oranges, grapes, raspberries, watermelon, citrus, mango, and melons. Serve alongside Chipotle Carne Asada or Air Fryer Ribeyes!
- Add a bit of lime zest with a microplane zester to the lime dressing for an extra burst of lime flavor. Be careful not to zest the 'pith', which is the white part under the green skin as it is bitter.
- Blend up leftover fruit to make a Greek yogurt smoothie or a cocktail! Tequila or vodka are great mixers.

Expert Tips
- Make extra dressing and cut extra fruit. You can store both separately in the fridge and dress it as you need it through the week.
- Summer fruit salad goes really well with smoked meats. If you're planning to smoke brisket, pulled pork, ribs or turkey, this fresh fruit salad is a great side dish.
- Fill bubble waffles with ice cream then top with honey lime fruit salad!
Recipe FAQs
I love fresh ginger, and I promise it's super easy to peel with a spoon and "zest" on a Microplane. But if you don't use it often, I recommend grabbing a tube of ginger paste. This can be found in the produce section with the fresh herbs, and will store in the fridge for a while.
You can whisk together the dressing and keep in a jar in the fridge for up to a week. While you can safely store the salad in an airtight container for 3 days after dressing, the texture will slowly change. I recommend dressing just before serving so your guests have the freshest experience. But you can enjoy the leftovers for the next day or two!
Yes, frozen fruit works well in this honey lime fruit salad recipe! If you can't find fresh fruit or it's not in season then frozen is a great substitute. Frozen fruit is picked at its peak ripeness then flash frozen for ultimate taste.
