Let's be honest, everyone loves desserts at Thanksgiving. I'm eating dessert, no matter how full I am. Not only that but I'm eating multiple desserts!
Here are some of my very favorite Thanksgiving dessert recipes! Traditional and non-traditional, these are all sure to be crowd pleasers!
Dutch Apple Pie
Apple Pie is a classic and this Best Dutch Apple Pie Recipe is nothing short of amazing! Layers of sliced apple mounded in a homemade crust, the perfect blend of warm spices, apple cider sauce and a crumbly sugary topping.
This is one of my very favorite pies! It's over the top and I love it.
This pie is a staple at Thanksgiving, as it should be. If you're really looking for some decadence then top this baby with Homemade Sweet Potato Ice Cream!
Homemade Sweet Potato Ice Cream
You've had candied sweet potatoes, right? Well this is candies sweet potatoes in ice cream form. Homemade Sweet Potato Ice Cream has a sweet and creamy sweet potato base, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans with toasted marshmallow fluff.
It is absolutely incredible! If you have an ice cream maker then you should be serving this at Thanksgiving, Christmas or any fall/winter holiday you're celebrating.
This ice cream is excellent on top of pies like: Dutch Apple Pie, Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Pie.
Serve this at your next get together for a fun new dessert. Your guests will love it!
Southern Pecan Pie
Another classic pie that I can't do without at the holidays. Southern Pecan Pie reminds me of my grandma and my mom. Sugary filling loaded with pecans then baked to perfection in a homemade or store bought pie crust.
I could eat this entire pie myself. We usually make two pies because my husband and I both love it so much It's simple but it's so good.
Call me crazy but Zach and I both love our Pecan Pie cold, so we refrigerate it before eating it. It's wonderful at room temperature as well but if you've never tried it cold then give it a shot!
Apple Pie Stuffed Cheesecake
Ok, listen. You can't decide if you want cheesecake or pie, we've all been there. Sooo..why not have both?! Apple Pie Stuffed Cheesecake is the best of both worlds.
Brown butter Golden Oreo crust, cheesecake, spiced apple pie filling, more cheesecake, oat streusel and homemade caramel sauce. Your guests will be blown away.
Everyone one I have ever served this cheesecake to has absolutely loved it!
Definitely a dessert you want on your Thanksgiving table. I have a feeling it will have a permanent spot there.
Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie
Where are my butterscotch lovers?? Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie is a homemade butterscotch with a light and creamy taste in a cinnamon graham cracker crust, topped with homemade cinnamon whipped cream.
This custard pie is nice because it can be made a couple days ahead of time. Top it with the whipped cream right before serving.
I love having a few holiday items that can be made ahead to help with the stress and time management of preparing large meals at the holidays.
Southern Sweet Potato Pie
Move over Pumpkin Pie, Southern Sweet Potato Pie is here! This pie is creamy sweet potato with brown butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg in a traditional pie crust then topped with meringue.
This pie is delicious with or without the meringue but don't be intimidated, it's easy to make. I used to think meringues were difficult but this recipe is very simple.
Sweet Potato Pie and Pumpkin Pie have similarities in color and taste but once you taste each, you usually have a preference for one over the other.
Serve this pie for something different at your Thanksgiving table!
Perfectly Spiced Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie is the most classic of Thanksgiving pies. Perfectly Spiced Pumpkin Pie is creamy, spicy and light. If you're looking for a traditional pie then this is the way to go!
I like to make pumpkin pie along with a few others. Use a homemade or store bought pie crust.
Make this Pumpkin Pie a day or two ahead to save time! It can be made and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days before serving. Make sure to cover it tightly with plastic wrap.
It's best to add the whipped cream right before serving.
Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake Bars
This is another one of those recipes where you can get the best of both worlds without choosing between one or another. Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake Bars are a creamy mix of spiced pumpkin pie and cheesecake with a pretzel crust.
I'm a big fan of salt with my sweets so the pretzel crust is a no brainer. You can always swap out the pretzels for graham cracker if you're not a fan.
These Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars cure you're cheesecake craving without too many steps. No water bath for these!
Taffy Apple Salad
Looking for a quick and easy dessert for Thanksgiving?! Taffy Apple Salad is it! Fresh apples mixed with Snickers, peanuts, marshmallow, pineapple then topped with caramel sauce.
It's the Snickers for me in this recipe. I love the addition of chocolate, caramel and nougat. It makes this dessert just that much better.
This dessert is a Midwestern classic and can be enjoyed at Thanksgiving as well as during the summer and early fall months.
It works well as a dish to pass for any get together!
