    • Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie Recipe

    Recipe Ingredients

    • Graham Crackers - You can blend your own graham crackers or buy graham cracker crumbs. You can even buy a pre-made graham cracker crust if you like.
    • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - I use a variety of Reese's cups for this recipe. I use regular Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, the Peanut Butter Lover Cups, and the Thin Dark Chocolate Cups.
    • Pretzels - I use the thin pretzel sticks for this pie recipe
    • Butter - Use unsalted butter because we are adding salt ourselves
    • Kosher Salt - Salt helps bring out the flavor of all the ingredients and is really delicious with the sweet ingredients.
    • Cream Cheese - Cream cheese is the base for the peanut butter layer in this no-bake pie.
    • Creamy Peanut Butter - I like to use smooth Skippy Natural peanut butter for this recipe, the same type I use for this chocolate peanut butter cheesecake recipe.
    • Powdered Sugar - To sweeten the peanut butter filling.
    • Heavy Cream - Heavy whipping cream is used to make the peanut butter filling light and fluffy.
    • Cool Whip - This Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie recipe is topped with cool whip.
    • Semi-Sweet Chocolate - You can use chocolate chips or a chocolate bar for the melted chocolate drizzle on top of the pie.
    • Dark Chocolate Bar (optional) - I like to use a few chocolate shavings on top of the pie for decoration.
    • Flaky Sea Salt (optional) - I LOVE topping my desserts with flaky sea salt, especially when there's chocolate involved, like Air Fryer S'mores.

Tips for Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie Recipe

    • Although it may be tempting not to, you need to let this Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie recipe chill for at least 4 hours or up to overnight before serving. If not, you'll be left with a sloppy mess. Try Peanut Butter Pretzel Pie for another no bake chocolate PB combo!
    • Use hot fudge instead of melted chocolate for the drizzle topping. If you have hot fudge on hand but no semi sweet chocolate, it works just fine. It won't set hard like the semi sweet chocolate does however, it's still delicious.
    • Use whatever Reese's cups you like! I use a mixture of the regular, peanut butter lovers and the thin dark Reese's peanut butter cups. As long as it's the same amount, any of them would work fine in this no bake recipe!
    • This Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie recipe is very rich and sweet. You only need a small slice! Usually.. depending on your mood!
    • This no bake pie uses simple ingredients that are easily found at your local grocery store! Easy shopping, easy to make!
    • Don't know how to shave chocolate?! Just use your vegetable peeler on a chocolate bar!
    • When beating cream to stiff peaks it's best to use COLD cream. Make sure you don't take it out of the fridge until you need it. You can also chill the bowl that you're beating it in if you'd like.
    • Maldon's is my favorite flaky sea salt.
    • Melt your chocolate in the microwave! Microwave the semi sweet chips for seconds at a time, stirring between each time until melted.
    • I warm my peanut butter in the microwave for about 10 seconds or so.
    • Use a plastic sandwich bag to drizzle the chocolate and the peanut butter. Fill each bag with the melted chocolate or peanut butter then snip a small whole on the end with scissors and drizzle!

    Variations

    • You can make this already easy pie recipe even easier by using store-bought premade crust.
    • Use graham cracker crust or Oreo crust! If you'd like to make your own Oreo crust, then you can use the crust recipe from my Strawberry Cheesecake Bars!
the inside of the peanut butter pie

    Equipment needed

    • Pie Pan - If you're making homemade crust then you will need a deep dish 9 inch pie plate
    • Food Processor - You'll need a food processor if you're blending your own graham cracker crumbs
    • Electric Hand Mixer - I use an electric hand mixer for the peanut butter filling and the heavy cream.
    • Sharp Knife - A sharp knife is always important when cutting anything in the kitchen.
    • Mixing Bowls - You'll need a large bowl to mix the peanut butter filling and a medium bowl to beat the cream

How do you make a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie?

Making this pie is easy! This creamy peanut butter pie takes 30 minutes or less to have it ready to chill.

    Making the Crust

First, if you're making homemade graham cracker crust then preheat the oven to 350°F. Blend the graham crackers to a fine crumb in the food processor.

Add the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and salt to a medium bowl. Mix with a fork until fully combined then press into pie dish.

graham cracker crust pressed into the pie dish

Press firmly on the bottom and up the edges of the pie dish. You can use the bottom of a measuring cup to help press down after you get started.

Bake the crust for 10 minutes then cool on a wire rack.

    Making the Filling

Cut all Reese's cups into chunks that are ¼ inch - ½ inch big. Reserve a few Reese's peanut butter cups to decorate the top of the pie if you'd like.

Set the chunks aside. Beat the cream cheese and peanut butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed for 1 minute.

Mix the powdered sugar in on low speed until fully combined.

peanut butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar mixed together

In a separate medium sized bowl, beat the heavy cream on medium - high speed until stiff peaks are formed.

heavy cream beat until it has stiff peaks

Mix ¼ of the heavy cream into the peanut butter mixture. Take half of the remaining heavy cream and FOLD it into the peanut butter mixture.

FOLD in the last of the heavy cream then fold in ⅔ of the Reese's peanut butter cups.

    Assembling the Pie

Crush the pretzels with your hands to break up just a little. Place the crushed pretzels in an even layer in the bottom of the pie crust.

Evenly sprinkle the remaining chopped Reese's peanut butter cups over the pretzels. Spoon the peanut butter mousse into the pie crust in an even layer.

    FAQ

How long does it take to make Reese's pie?

It takes 30 minutes or less to make this Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups pie recipe. However, after being made it does need to chill for 4 hours or up to overnight.

It's a great pie recipe to make a day ahead of time and have it ready to go the day of serving with minimal work!

Can I use store bought crust?

Yes, of course! This already easy pie can be made even easier by using store bought crust.

It's totally up to you, either one works just fine. One thing that I would suggest is to buy a deep dish graham cracker pie crust.

There is quite a bit of filling in this pie and it probably wouldn't all fit in a regular size crust.

Can I freeze Reese's peanut butter cups?

Yes, you can! I do it all the time. They freeze and keep super well and are actually delicious to eat frozen as well.

Reese's cups will keep in the freezer for up to 6 months. Normally I just freeze them as they are in the wrapper but you can always freeze the wrapped candy bars in an airtight container for extra protection.

    Are Reese's better frozen?

Depends who you ask! I honestly love them both ways but I probably prefer them frozen.

I like a lot of my chocolate candy frozen though, so you'd have to just try it out for yourself. The nice thing about eating frozen Reese's peanut butter cups is that they are still easy to bite and chew.

I love eating the Easy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Pie frozen too!

What was the original name of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?

The first peanut butter cups were actually called "Penny Cups", because they could be purchased for a penny. This was launched in 1928 by the H.B. Reese Candy Company. - Wikipedia

Can I use real whip cream instead of cool whip on top or will it make the pie too messy. I tend to prefer whip cream to cool whip

OH MY WORD I just started following you on instagram after star (skinnyish dish) posted this pie tonight and I am already in love!!. I made my teenagers run out and we got all the ingredients I know it needs to chill for longer, but I've had my fork in it already and FIVE STARS. We did do the premade crust for ease since we don't have a food processor otherwise followed exactly even mixed the dark choc and regular pb cups!
