Why You'll Love This Recipe
- You can make this at any time of year! S'mores for a winter birthday? Why not! Same goes for this air fryer ribeye steak recipe.
- No open flames, making it safer for older kids to manage on their own.
- It's easy to customize, by selecting different chocolate or even swapping in gluten-free crackers.
Recipe Ingredients
- Graham Crackers: I use regular graham crackers to keep with tradition.
- Marshmallows: I prefer to use jumbo marshmallows, because they fill the entire s'more.
- Hershey's Bars: This is the traditional chocolate bar used for s'mores but you can have fun with it and switch it up to whatever your favorite candy bar is! Use extra Hershey Bars to make s'mores cookie bars with marshmallow fluff!
- Flaky Sea Salt: This is optional but delicious. I love a little salt with my sweets!
See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Substitutions & Variations
- Use gluten-free graham crackers, or try out chocolate ones. I often use GF graham cracker crumbs for mini cheesecake bites too.
- As above, feel free to use gourmet or other types of chocolate to really change things up. Even try white chocolate!
- Sometimes you can find flavored or stuffed marshmallows.

Expert Cooking Tips
- Don't crowd the air fryer. Only place marshmallows and graham crackers in a single layer in the bottom of the basket. Do not stack. Same goes for Asian Air Fryer Salmon.
- Using tongs and/or a spatula will help prevent you burning yourself when removing items from the air fryer. Use metal tipped tongs, not plastic or silicone.
- Only leave the chocolate in the air fryer for 10 seconds. If you leave the Hershey's or Ghirardelli squares in longer then they can become very liquid-y. This makes burning yourself extremely easy. It also makes for a big mess.
- If you like your marshmallow less toasted then don't leave it in as long. If you like a black marshmallow (like I do) then leave it in slightly longer. The air fryer won't have the same effect that a campfire does though, so be cautious of how long your marshmallow is in the air fryer.
- Different brands and sizes of air fryers can have different cook times. My current air fryer cooks quickly. Make sure you pay attention the first time and adjust timing if needed.
Recipe FAQs
A jumbo marshmallow is best for Air Fryer S'mores. That way it covers most of the graham cracker. The mini marshmallows don't really stay put very well. You can use the large circular shape or the large square shape, specifically for s'mores. I like to use the square shape but that is just personal preference.
Not really. Air Fryer S'mores are a dessert that you need to eat immediately. Unfortunately they don't hold well so don't try keeping them in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap. S'mores are a single serve dessert, which means you can make as many individual servings as you'd like. This really cuts down on waste.
You certainly can but it is not necessary. Using foil in an air fryer helps make for an easy clean-up! I don't know about you but I love an easy clean up. If you are using it, only use enough to cover the bottom and not come up the sides. Only place it in the air fryer right before adding the food, NOT while preheating.
Here are a few of my favorite types of chocolate to use on s'mores:
Hershey's: This is the classic s'more that everyone knows and loves. Hershey's bars make delicious s'mores.
Reese's: If you love a chocolate peanut butter combo then this may be the option for you. Using Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on s'mores has become very popular in recent years.
Ghirardelli: Ghirardelli makes chocolate squares that fit perfectly onto a graham cracker square. They have tons of flavor options too. I have recipes for their caramel and raspberry squares, Raspberry S’mores, Brown Butter Graham Cracker Blondie S’more.

Air Fryer S'mores Recipe
Equipment
- 1 tongs
- 1 metal spatula
Ingredients
Air Fryer S'mores
- 6 graham crackers broken in half
- 6 jumbo marshmallows square or circular
- 2 Hershey's bars full size, broken into smaller blocks
Topping (optional)
- ⅛ tsp flaky sea salt for sprinkling on top of chocolate
Instructions
Making the S'mores
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for a couple minutes
- Break the graham crackers in half and add chocolate on top of half, set the other half to the side
- Place the graham crackers with chocolate into the air fryer for 10 seconds to slightly melt the chocolate. Remove them with a metal spatula and set on a plate or tray
- Air fry the marshmallows for 1½ - 2 minutes, remove them with tongs and place 1 marshmallow on top of each chocolate
- Place the remaining graham crackers on top of the marshmallows and push down lightly
Notes
- Don't crowd the air fryer. Only place marshmallows and graham crackers in a single layer in the bottom of the basket. Do not stack
- Using tongs and/or a spatula will help prevent you burning yourself when removing items from the air fryer
- Try out different chocolates! Reese's peanut butter cups and Ghirardelli squares are also really delicious on air fryer s'mores
- Only leave the chocolate in the air fryer for 10 seconds. If you leave the Hershey's or Ghirardelli squares in longer then they can become very liquid-y. This makes burning yourself extremely easy. It also makes for a big mess
- I only put the bottom graham cracker in the air fryer to hold the chocolate. The graham crackers can burn easily too so you don't want them in there much longer than the 10 seconds with the chocolate
- If you like your marshmallow less toasted then don't leave it in as long. If you like a black marshmallow ( like I do) then leave it in slightly longer. The air fryer won't have the same effect that a campfire does though, so be cautious of how long your marshmallow is in the air fryer
